Now that I have permission from Natsume to post about Sunshine Islands, I can share some of my responses to the sequel to Island of Happiness.Īlthough players of Island of Happiness will find many of the fundamental principles of Sunshine Islands reassuringly familiar, there are a multitude of exciting new options as well as some changes.Īs in Island of Happiness, farming degree points are at the very foundation of the requirements for unlocking new options. I am not sure of how many pits you can find in each floor but I never found more than 2, and apparently they change places with every reload, so be careful. Start digging with the hoe around the ladder, without removing stones (or lava in Sunshine Islands), the stairs to the next level is usually 3 tiles around the one that takes you to the surface, so dig it like this and you will probably find the stairs to the next level (start digging around it and so on):Īnd more importantly: RESIST THE URGE TO BREAK ORES OR REMOVE LAVA at all costs, go down until you feel you’re safe to start mining (you have enough recovering items to keep you up). Always take with you a bunchload of grasses (Indigo, Blue, Purple and White), a filled watering can (Sunshine Islands only), hammer and hoe.įall down the first two or three levels, the stamina you lose won’t be worth more than that.

Here’s a tip of how to mine in these games (the way I prefer to do, actually), some people would rather fall down the levels and then recover the stamina they lost, but I found this way too dangerous (I’d faint a lot before getting the accessories that gave me extra stamina), so, here’s how I do it soon in the game (before having access to the accessories and green wonderfuls:
